Many rimfire enthusiasts and backpackers will no doubt be familiar with the Chiappa Firearms Little Badger. Chambered in 22WMR or 22LR the Little Badger weighs a scant 3 lbs and folds down into a compact 17″ package that is easy to take with you on nearly any adventure. Today Chiappa Firearms has just announced the addition of a new trim of the Little Badger with the introduction of the new Little Badger Take Down Xtreme rifle. This new variant of the Little Badger now features a more streamlined stock, and a new take-down feature as well as a new carrying case/tube.

Chiappa Firearms’ New Little Badger Take Down Xtreme Rifle
At the time of writing, the Chiappa Little Badger Take Down Xtreme rifle is sold for an MSRP of $280.00 features a 16.5″ 1/2″x28 threaded and blued barrel, a quad Picatinny forend, M1 military style sights, and a steel rod stock that features a shell holder in the butt similar in nature to the standard offering of the Little Badger. This new variant is currently only being offered chambered in 22LR but Chiappa firearms has also added a new and more affordable Desert Sand Cerakote version of the Standard Little badger ($264.00).
The new Little Badger Take Down Xtreme rifle also includes a new carrying case which is a plastic tube that is listed as “water resistant.” In addition, the new steel rod stock can hold up to 12 rounds of spare 22LR ammunition which should make reloads and followup shots much faster. Despite its new design, the Chiappa Little Badger Take Down Xtreme still only weighs in at 2.9lbs and has the same overall length as previous Little Badger trims.
